Pumpkin Fest 2021: One of Chicagoland’s Favorite Outdoor Fall Festivals Returns

Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm, Lockport, IL Kicks Off its 31st Annual Pumpkin Fest Sat., Sept. 25

2021 Corn Maze: Celebrates the 35 Years of the Iconic Game “Super Mario Brothers”: Get lost in 10 acres or five miles of maze with Mario

Selected by Travelocity as one of the most amazing corn mazes in the U.S., the only in the Midwest, and only one in Illinois.

This year’s corn maze honors the 35th Anniversary of Super Mario Brothers which was marked this past year by the release of several new games and a world-wide celebration.

Siegel’s honors the anniversary with its 10 acre, five-mile long corn maze intricately designed to include all of the things two generations have come to love about Super Mario Brothers.

The iconic Super Mario Bros. is frequently cited as one of the greatest video games of all time, and one of the best-selling games of all time, and has become prominent in popular culture.

The successor to the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros. and the first in the Super Mario series, was released in 1985 in conjunction with the, then new, Nintendo Entertainment System. The game began a multimedia franchise including a long-running game series, an animated television series and a feature film, and has inspired several fangames.

The game’s success helped to push Mario as a worldwide cultural icon; in 1990, a study taken in North America suggested that more children in the United States were familiar with Mario than they were with Mickey Mouse.

Near mint and mint condition copies of Super Mario Bros. have been considered collectors’ items, some selling for $100,000.

Mario Brothers to Super Mario Brothers, arcade to Gameboy, today’s parents now share their love of the game with their children who’ve embraced it on the Nintendo Switch.

About Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm

What makes Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Fest unique compared to other Pumpkin Farms is our 4th generation family farm is a real operating family farm year-round. We have a real Pumpkin Field that families can take a hayrack ride out to, to pick a pumpkin right off the vine and we’re passionate about educating and teaching young and old about farming, where food comes from, and the importance of farmers. We have farm animals that are common to operating farms not exotic animals you can see at a zoo. Guests feel able to spend more time on the farm due to the many activities included in the admission. More than any farm in the area. We’re the country in the city encouraging families of all ages out into the fresh air for a fun day at Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm. www.OurPumkinFarm.com and www.CottonwoodFarms.net/.
